After a couple months of getting to grips with my new machine - and getting fitter of course at the same time, I eventually took the plunge and registered for my first ever "on-line" rowing race. With heart beat racing I was determined not to set off at a pace that would have me on the floor - exhausted - in minutes. So set was I that I was going to complete the race that I didn't even look at the screen to see how the others were doing for the first two minutes. In the event I came 4th! For some reason one person never started and one stopped along the way. My finish time wasn't too far behind the others either so I was quite pleased. Sandra, bless her, egged me on all the way waving a little Union flag (as it was an international event!).
